Home ยป Watch Out: Korean War II?

with one comment

Yesterday North Korea threatened strikes in response to media reports that America and the South had plans in place to handle “possible instability in the totalitarian country.”

Early Saturday morning local time a ship from the South reportedly fired at “a flock of birds” (?) on their radar — what they thought might have been radar clutter — and then their ship suddenly exploded, killing perhaps 40 sailors.

The South has mobilized their fleet in response and given orders to rescue, defend, and investigate. The North, remember, has nukes which can hit Japan.

[Update: there are reasons to be far less concerned.]

  1. There’s always reason to be concerned: remember the Gulf of Tonkin.
