The campaign has started for the next Secretary-General of the UN and nobody told us! Wikipedia has a summary of mainstream candidates and some of the (as far as Canadians are concerned, we hope) fringe candidates. BetUS.com appears to be the only online bookie covering the odds [go to Future-props/Politics/UN Secretary General]. There are blogs covering it comprehensively, perfunctorily, and with an agenda.

Although we dig Slick Willy, we have someone more interesting in mind – but more on that later…

What is UNSG.org’s “agenda”? From the “About UNSG” page, seems to have more supporters and more comprehensive posts than the other site.

Oops, I accidentially linked to UNSG.org twice. As you can see in the corrected version, it is UNSGselection.org that has an agenda.

And what is that agenda? Sounds like they’re hiding something.

UNSG.org also still seems the most comprehensive than either of the other two. More info on the candidates, the process and daily updates.

[...] We were just getting the campaign to Draft Bono for UNSG together when they went and chose some politician. We have learned that it is not easy to influence secret, non-democratic elections. :( [...]
