First The Green Hornet had Kevin Smith (Clerks, etc.) directing, then Stephen Chow (Kung Fu Hustle, Shaolin Soccer), now Michel Gondry (Human Nature, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Science of Sleep).

Nick Cage dropped out of the film Tuesday and today, less than a week later, Christopher Waltz (Landa from Inglorious Basterds) stepped in as the villain. The film will be written by and star Seth Rogan, with an assist from his fellow Vancouverite and Superbad, Knocked Up, and Pineapple Express co-writer Evan Goldberg.

Should be smiles times. I know nothing about the property, but I’ll certainly see any film that kind of talent goes into. Rogan is the weak link for me. I love his humour, including Pineapple Express, but I’m also concerned it’s wearing thin.
