Via K-Lo, The Totally Rad Show reviews Skate 2. Skip ahead to 24:00 or just watch it all. The show’s decent:

Why their review made me laugh:

1. “Burnout Paradise on a skateboard” was one of our marketing slugs. Count how many times each of them riffs on that idea. “Global economic downturn for the loss” reeks of PR spin too.

2. I think everything Cardigan (on the right) says is VERY astute, particularly about the franchise’s minimalism. Brown Hoodie eventually redeems himself with some good points, and I love his brother-Hoodie’s description of explorative gameplay.

3. Adding EA Nation was one of my tasks. It warms my heart to know our players think it’s retarded too (one day someone’ll convince management. One day). The junior SE I delegated Nation to also did the blog feature they liked so much: his karma ran over my dogma.

Thanks K-Lo, it’s good to get a look at that beast from the other side of the media-industrial complex. It gives me perspective on the System.
