Home ยป Texting in Class

Apparently *children* are now using *cellphones* to *textual message* IN SCHOOLOLZ:

Note the two responses from administrators: some ban the technology, some work with it. This leaves only one question: How do we fire all the former and promote all the latter?

  1. Texting is very distracting during lessons. If someone was texting in class I would always notice. Then it just leads to people leaving their ringers on or vibrate and that is just really really annoying. I don’t want kids texting in my class. I worry about bullying by text that I can’t see or hear. I won’t shun the technology. I have a great idea about making videos for assessment with camera phones. I don’t need a ban, just doing bring them out when we are trying to learn something.

  2. Oops! I meant don’t bring them out when we are trying to learn something. Using phones as a teaching tool is different then allowing them to text as much as they want during class time.
