ยป Scotia iTRADE: Worst in the World
ScotiaBank is terrible, remember. My iTRADE account was just re-opened… With no cash or stock in it.
Customer Service says it’ll show up “in a couple of days”.
SKETCHY! iTRADE has no account insurance, remember.

Well, the assets are back. Sorta. iTRADE’s subnormal employees converted all of my USD to CAD for some reason. Of their own volition, without my directions.
They earn exchange spread off that, especially since I have to convert it back to USD to buy.
I’m not well-pleased. Scotia is just awful.

Oh, and their site still sends you to the American side of E*Trade, which is still called E*Trade. Terrible for security. There’s nothing like getting users used to logging in to the wrong domain.

Credit Suisse played catchup with me and downgraded ScotiaBank stock today.

Yes. Itrade is one of the worst discount brokers with the most pathetic customer support I have ever seen. DO NOT USE THIS BROKER. There is a class action suit being prepared against Scotia Itrade due to numerous violations.

I have been trying a number of times to get through on their Trading and Customer Service phone lines and the wait has exceeded half hour both times. I actually haven’t been able to get through, I’ve simply given up. They are totally and completely useless. Unbelievable.

I am interested in the class action suit against Scotia Itrade. Where can I get the info? They need to be held accountable for their utterly poor service and lack of performance as stated on their website. They are as unprofessional as anything I’ve ever encountered. Their ‘support’ staff are hopeless. They behave as though they are a publically funded service rather than a paid for service with clients.
Scotia Ihate, a reference I’ve seen on another site, is so appropriate a name for this corporate waste of time.

Crazy site. You’re pissed man. Sucks to trade in Vancouver, I guess the really early bird gets the worm. I think if you were in Toronto you would have been at the right place on the 5th floor of the real Scotia Tower.

Anything else. I’ve been happy with TD Waterhouse in past, but I haven’t used them in years. Just make sure cash balances are CDIC insured, compare fee structures, and Google around to see what other customers think.

Worst company EVER. They lost a bank draft of mine then accused me of never giving it to them….still have me recorded under “Mr” with some funky spelling of my name…wait on hold for 45 minutes to do a trade and watch the price plumet while on hold, only to get a rude, incompetent person answer. Have never had trouble with any financial institution but Scotia I-Trade. Run for the hills before ever opening an account there. They literally screwed up every single thing they have ever done with me.

Hi there and attention!!!! to all shareholders. Scotiaitrade has just lost their mind recently Scotiaitrade has implemented a new rule for “people who trade share more than 1000 in quantity and are a dollar and higher they will get charged 2cents per share, even if they are canadian stocks, Absoultly Greedy of these bastards, and reviews i have read arnt good about every one seems to complain who have less than 50000 in their account, etrade was much better in regards to custi service, custi care and fees. therefore im leaving Scotia itrade and i run a blog from which a 1000 followers are sure gonna know about this and i will encourage them to leave who have accounts with Scotiairippoff!!. Less customers day by day from what i hear.

These guys are “the gang that couldn’t shoot straight”. They have just screwed up my automatic cash withdrawal for what must be the 5th time! Last year, they managed to switch the personal information (names, SIN numbers) between my accounts and my wife’s accounts. At this point, I’m looking for an alternative.

I have been trying to get a problem with using the wrong RRSP account for 2 years (my error initially). Keep getting different answers, always delayed. Basically used spousal RRSP vs cash account, they issuing slips to show transaction as RRSP income and never gave slips to sho tax saving contribution. They don’t care that I pay $1,000′s in taxes. Even CRA rep saying their decision makes no sense.
Don’t use Scotia ITrade, lots of better online trade services available.

$19.99 per trade for the first 1000 shares .02 cents for every share after that. so if you trade 5000 it’ll cost you $100 plus all the hidden bs you get caught with your paying $120. whereas quest trade is always capped at 9.99 max plus removing liquidity cost, only a fraction of what scotiaitrade charges you.
