ScotiaBank is terrible, remember. My iTRADE account was just re-opened… With no cash or stock in it.

Customer Service says it’ll show up “in a couple of days”.

SKETCHY! iTRADE has no account insurance, remember.

Well, the assets are back. Sorta. iTRADE’s subnormal employees converted all of my USD to CAD for some reason. Of their own volition, without my directions.

They earn exchange spread off that, especially since I have to convert it back to USD to buy.

I’m not well-pleased. Scotia is just awful.

Oh, and their site still sends you to the American side of E*Trade, which is still called E*Trade. Terrible for security. There’s nothing like getting users used to logging in to the wrong domain.

Credit Suisse played catchup with me and downgraded ScotiaBank stock today.

Yes. Itrade is one of the worst discount brokers with the most pathetic customer support I have ever seen. DO NOT USE THIS BROKER. There is a class action suit being prepared against Scotia Itrade due to numerous violations.

I have been trying a number of times to get through on their Trading and Customer Service phone lines and the wait has exceeded half hour both times. I actually haven’t been able to get through, I’ve simply given up. They are totally and completely useless. Unbelievable.

I am interested in the class action suit against Scotia Itrade. Where can I get the info? They need to be held accountable for their utterly poor service and lack of performance as stated on their website. They are as unprofessional as anything I’ve ever encountered. Their ‘support’ staff are hopeless. They behave as though they are a publically funded service rather than a paid for service with clients.

Scotia Ihate, a reference I’ve seen on another site, is so appropriate a name for this corporate waste of time.

Crazy site. You’re pissed man. Sucks to trade in Vancouver, I guess the really early bird gets the worm. I think if you were in Toronto you would have been at the right place on the 5th floor of the real Scotia Tower.

Anything else. I’ve been happy with TD Waterhouse in past, but I haven’t used them in years. Just make sure cash balances are CDIC insured, compare fee structures, and Google around to see what other customers think.

Worst company EVER. They lost a bank draft of mine then accused me of never giving it to them….still have me recorded under “Mr” with some funky spelling of my name…wait on hold for 45 minutes to do a trade and watch the price plumet while on hold, only to get a rude, incompetent person answer. Have never had trouble with any financial institution but Scotia I-Trade. Run for the hills before ever opening an account there. They literally screwed up every single thing they have ever done with me.
