And this shall be the whole of the law:
- A mind sans entheogenics is henceforth deemed insane.
Wednesday’s JRE is a three-hour interview with one of Joe’s business partners who just got back from an ibogaine retreat in Costa Rica. My new motivation for getting in better shape is entheogenic tourism.
I assume he was there to break an addiction? From what I gather, nobody does ibogaine for fun.
He and his wife went there for personal development, as did most of the people in their group (I got the impression it was around 10 people). One of them was a hardcore heroin addict, I think one or two were there for oxy.
But yeah, he mentioned that there’s a budding business in opiate addiction curative travel: junkets for junkies.
Why would you travel to Coast Rica to do ibogaine given that it’s from Africa? Also, it’s completely unregulated in Canada.
Ayahuasca tourism is apparently quite a big thing.
Dude, have you seen that Kony shit? Who the fuck wants to go to Africa and do three-day long psychedelic trips! I couldn’t even make an afternoon visit to the Anne Frank house in Amsterdam on a light mushroom tea.
So, to actually answer your question: Costa Rican shamans import iboga bark from Gabon and process it into ibogaine. Somehow they claim a tradition, but I’m ignorant of all that.
It’s interesting that it’s not regulated here.
Business plan?
Yes, but next things first!
Just found a local supplier.
