I made sure they were roughly close to the <a href="https://www.clearlycontacts.ca/sizeinfo.ep" rel="nofollow">measurements of glasses</a> I own which fit me (or, for example which "I" tried on in a store). Clearly Contacts also has a "30 Day No Risk, No Questions" return policy so one could, perhaps, implement your "order a bunch and return the leftovers" online shopping strategy.
