ยป Movies of the Decade
The AV Club has posted their favourite scenes from the 00s. I haven’t seen all the referenced movies (there are 25), but it seems like a pretty interesting walk through the last 10 years. I watched Femme Fatale for the first time a couple days ago and it was pretty amusing. Next up in the queue is Coffee and Cigarettes, which Al has recommended to me a few times, and probably on this blog…
Note that the AV Club also posted their 50 best films of the decade. I found that I’d seen about 90% of the 50 best films, but not nearly as many of the top scenes did I remember or had even watched.
I looked through their 50 best films list a few days ago. I’ve probably seen somewhere between a half and three quarters of them. Looking over that list, plus the many movies mentioned in the comments that I’d seen that didn’t make it into the list, it really struck me that there have been a lot of really good movies that I’ve seen in the last ten years. I’m not saying that the aughts have been any better than other decades but, wow, there are a lot of great movies in existence.
