I find the I Ching to be a good oracle. There’s a conversation to be had about what I mean by that statement, but I’ll defer for the moment. Think of it as an interactive book which constructs a hologram of the supplicant, if that helps.
q: Are you a method of social control?
a: Tireless vigilance and an answer to every challenge — that is the uneasy Seat of Power occupied by the conqueror.
We’re fighting at the moment, me and the bookself. It’s telling me things that I interpret as pretty arrogant/offensive. When this has happened in the past it has been because I’ve drifted off-moor and am operating with false assumptions.
That’s a dangerous place for a social animal to be, outside of consensus reality. In the past it’s been very upsetting. So I queried it about my false assumptions:
Everything is in harmony, all obstacles are cleared from your Path, anything you could ask for is right at hand. This is the Elysian Fields, the Garden of Eden. The only thing wrong with Peace is that it, too, must change.
One thing we seem to agree on is that it’s time for me to enter into the Elysian Mysteries and eat the Fruit of the Tree of Knowledge again. Blow the doors wide.
