Countdown to the Main Event

Ahhh, this was a big poker weekend. The World Series, the most important fixture on the poker tournament circuit, is two months away. I think next year I’m going to play in a smaller buy-in event.

Anyway, further to Negreanu being one of the best players ever, here’s a highlight reel of his performance in the 2007 series. Good luck to him this year:

[Edit: that's some low-quality poker commentary for the first hand there. The reason Daniel calls is to induce the all-in from Adamic. It's a pretty standard play. By just calling he sweetens the pot if the first player wants to call and creates a prime opportunity for a squeeze play, which is what Adamic attempts.]
