Home ยป Absurdity, Business, and General Motors

If this blog had archives I’d link to my Declaration Of Ignorance when it comes to current events.

I was never very good at resolutions.

Via MSNBC:

Executives at the two automakers have said bankruptcy is not an option because consumers would not buy cars from a company that might go out of business.

Two points:

1) Hello, morons? NO ONE IS BUYING YOUR CARS NOW. STOP BLAMING THE CUSTOMER FOR NOT LOVING YOUR BULLSHIT PRODUCT.

2) Yeah, because no one wants a DeLorean. Idiots.

lolorean

Again, GM: The car everyone wants to buy is THE CAR YOU KILLED. GM needs a restructuring all right: A complete, massive layoff of everyone not involved in manufacturing and design. Just like Jack Welsh did to GE in the ’90s — gut middle and upper management, Machiavelli-style.

Is the anger bleeding through? This is why I shouldn’t read the news. Lesson learned (well, probably not).

My business, which largely consists of me sitting around trying to hallucinate games and movies, is doing FAR AND AWAY better than the average car company. I should probably be put in charge. My platform: Build an electric car infrastructure capable of supplying 1.21 gigawatt charges on demand.

I should have paid more attention to that one story from kindergarten The Emperor’s New Clothes. I didn’t realize it was the key to understanding economics, big business, politics, capitalism, etc. God-fucking-damn do I hate the idiocy of Authority.
