I totally forgot that was the plot of Roger Rabbit! Nice to know that even the big evil corporates lament the loss of streetcars…
In a few minutes of searching I failed to find any reasonable argument about why streetcars are better than buses. Seems like construction of the lines are hella expensive (both $$$ and the political will to tear up major streets). I’m guessing the end result is cheaper day to day maintenance and better for the environment?
