There is a degrowth strategy that could do that and fit within current economics. It is called the Depopulation-Green Economic Environment (see link above).

Your comments are certainly valid, but I think you need to add a caveat, which I saw/heard made by David Allen himself, in an interview on Twit. He was asked which, if any, of the “systems” he would recommend for implementing GTD, and he responded that GTD is a set of procedures, and each person needs to implement it/them for himself using whatever tools he finds most useful. In his own case, he said he is a paper kinda guy, and his major tool is a simple wooden INBOX, but he also is a long-long-long time user of Lotus Notes… which he prints for reference.

I’d summarize the caveat as “Use Whatever Works For You”… just make sure you follow the procedures and empty your INBOX often.

A quick aside: I’m trying out Evernote – I use multiple computers, including Windows and Linux desktops and notebooks, and an iPad. What I do not use – and you do – is a phone, at least not for anything other than voice and text messages. I get where you’re coming from, but since I still use a somewhat dumb phone, it’s not for me, at this time. I’ll consider it, but right now I’m still pissed off that my iPad shows up on my phone bill, has a phone number… and can’t be used as a phone. There is zero technical reason for this, and if Jobs hadn’t already croaked, I’d seriously consider taking a quick trip to kick his ass. /RANT
